Christopher Wlliam Hill's funny and touching drama is based on true events.The celebrated dancer and choreographer Sir Frederick Ashton, adopted as a favourite by the Queen Mother, was invited to choreograph a ballet for her 80th birthday. But the jealousy of Ashton's young lover, the compelling Martyn Thomas, threatened to spoil the party.
With Jeremy Clyde as Ashton, Phyllida Law as the Queen Mother, William Beck as Martyn Thomas and Benjamin Whitrow as William Chappell and also featuring Kim Wall, Gunnar Cauthery, Marlene Sidaway and Madeline Clements.
The pianist was Catherine Herriot and the play was produced and directed by John Taylor.
